I used a two equal part mixture of white modeling chocolate and fondant for the Raggedy Ann and Andy. I find that this gives it a smoother consistency and a slower drying time. I used my gum paste tools for the neat little details like the stitching and
gel colors and vodka to paint on Andy’s plaid shirt and both their faces. The hair was made with a garlic press and then I gave them both cute little haircuts!
I smoothed the buttercream with both the hot water method followed by the Viva paper towel method! The block was pieced together with fondant and I piped the edges to cover up the seams! I will post my recipe for white modeling chocolate tomorrow! Both Fondx and Caljava are great delicious brands of fondant. They taste
nothing like Wilton’s recipe which has given fondant a bad reputation for taste. Comment if you like and if I seem to have enough interest I will post an easy recipe for a delicious homemade marshmallow fondant!

This cake is incredible!! I am beyond impressed. I am sure it tasted just as yummy as it looks.
OMG! What a beautiful cake Danielle!! Those kids are truely blessed with a GREAT mother!! Wish you were here so I could take some tips! Love you
Thanks guys! Anna, It was a lemon with the blackberry brandy whipped filling. I wasn’t sure if Julia would like lemon but it had been a while since I had made a lemon cake. She gobbled it up, so I guess she’s a lemon fan. It was a fun party! And Cara, I would have loved it if y’all could have been here!
Danielle,
You are truly talented. This cake is AMAZING!!!!! I wished we lived closer so I could have access to your cakes!
Love you,
Connie
Thanks! I wish you lived closer too so that the babies could see you both more often!
